About the Author Dani Emily is a 24 year old, new indie children’s writer from Dublin. Dani has a 4 year old son who is the inspiration for writing her books, especially because he has a love of reading alongside his mammy. Dani loves reading and writing and has since a young age, which in turn has led her to write for children to show them that anything is possible, and that is the message she wishes to share in her debut story Angela’s Journey : The anglerfish who wanted to see daylight. Dani became a mother at a young age and has been trying to re-navigate the world and see how everything works from her child’s perspective, to be able to explain how things work for him. Having a child at 19 has changed Dani for the better and made her more aware that not everything is perfect that all you can do is try your best and be there for your children. Dani also has an ongoing health issue which is hEDS which was only diagnosed in April 2025. She is also having to now find other ways around living with chronic illness and having a young child. To find ways of explaining how she can’t do a lot of her son’s favourite things without having someone with her. However Dani is very strong willed and is motivated by her son and family to figure out a new way of life. Her previous life before her diagnosis was difficult due to unexplained pain and joint issues that led her to leave employment in the motor trade, in which Dani was a mechanic. She has always had a strong love for cars and bikes, attending bike races and car club meets at a young age which was when she first had the wish to work in the motor industry. A few other occupations that Dani wanted to do as a child included, primary school teaching, journalism, photography and creative media and many more. Dani wishes for all parents and children who read her books that they can achieve anything that they put their minds to, that all you need sometimes is friends and family to help you get there.
